The centralized theme of the event this Tuesday-Thursday (May 25-27) is “Connecting the Community. Building Buzz Around Books.”
In the event, authors and writers will explore forthcoming titles for children and adults at Book Buzz sessions, which are co-sponsored by publishers. Additionally, the interactive exhibit hall will feature a range of offerings from companies ranging from Abbeville to Z2 Comics.
A keynote address by Oprah Winfrey will kick off the show. Furthermore, Stevie Van Zandt will discuss his memoir entitled Unrequited Infatuations.
Famous actor Keanu Reviews will provide a preview of the forthcoming graphic novel, Brzrkr and together with the co-writer Matt Kindt and artist Ron Garney for the discussion.
John Ingram will discuss his company's first 50 years, as featured in Keel Hunt's The Family Business. Anthony Doerr will discuss Cloud Cuckoo Land, his first novel since All the Light We Cannot See won the Pulitzer Prize. Ijeoma Oluo, author of So You Want to Talk About Race and the Ordinary will discuss her newly released book Be a Revolution.
Additionally, the show will highlight emerging children's writers and books. Padma Lakshmi, a Top Chef, and Taste the Nation star will discuss her picture book debut, Tomatoes for Neela, illustrated by Juan Martinez-Neal. Brian Selznick, a veteran children's book author, will address his new novel, Kaleidoscope. Sen. Elizabeth Warren will address her picture book debut, Pinkie Promises, illustrated by Charlene Chua.
